Whiskeytown 2011 Update!

Hi Simon and Kurt,

I wanted to give you an update on how we are doing, and tell you John has been “Super”. He is really enthusiastic, and bringing up his wife, son, and four more Bay View RC members to help him run the whole show. The lake is full, the temps are in the high 70s, and we’re ready to go.

I’ve enclosed another amendment to the NOR, which now shows we will sail 3 races per day instead of two. John is going to have a separate finish boat and finish line, so he’ll be able to start a class’s next race when the last boat in the class finishes, not when the slowest boat on the lake has finally finished. If the Moore’s decide you want four races the first day, I know John will accommodate that. We’re just hoping for some decent wind over that weekend. But you can be sure the first race won’t be an up and down the lake marathon that takes 4 hours to finish.

We are working with Oak Bottom Marina who actually manages Brandy Creek marina as well, and trying to get them to let the Moores raft up at the end of the dock where the slips are (not the public dock) if there aren’t enough vacant slips to overnight in.

Again, I really appreciate your help and enthusiasm, we think this will be a really good regatta. And interestingly, the WSC members are very happy John is going to run the show!

See you in May,

Jake
