Whiskeytown Regatta May 28-29, 2011

Next up is the Whiskeytown Regatta over Memorial Day weekend. All new Race Committee and PRO should make for a lot of racing and fun time for all. Out with the usual slow pace, instead we will be starting races while other fleets finish and we will be using all the wind the lake offers. Fun camping in under the oaks in the group site. The NOR can be found on the link below. Entry fee is $50 and there is no deadline for entry. Please reply to the yahoo site that you intend to sail so we can get a headcount.

You will need to complete the Quagga Mussel thing (online form at the website below) and will need to get a parking permit for your vehicles and post then on your dash. The mussel form is self verification.

We are expecting a good showing from the Pac NW as they lobbied hard to get a regatta that wasn't so hard on their trailer tires. Let's not let them think they can come and steal our pickle dishes - well little clay replicas of what the regatta used to stand for. The weather at the lake can be great, cold, boiling, windy, etc so bring the kitchen sink and you will be a happy puppy.

Don't forget a anchor (14 lbs total package is class legal) for sat eve. Leave them in the water while racing. Please say a big thank you to John Super from Bay View Boat Club for running this event and for helping Whiskeytown Sailing Club to make some great changes to their program. Their contact is Jake Cartwright and he is a good guy also so thank him also.

Wabbits will be there also with a big fleet flag that we can cover with the Moore banner.
