2014 Rob Moore Regatta – From Leslie Richter

I’m so pleased that the Moore 24 Fleet has put the 2nd Annual Rob Moore Memorial Regatta (Robgatta) on to their season schedule. I would like to make a personal invitation to the fleet to come out on February 15th for full day of activities. Racing will be followed by beer and pizza on the deck; an extraordinary speaker panel including John Craig, Stan Honey, Sally Lindsey Honey, Kurt Jordan, and Dee Smith; silent and live auctions; and a buffet dinner.

Rob died two years ago of lung cancer despite never having smoked. It’s a disease that can effect anyone, and in fact claims more lives every year than breast, colon, leukemia, and pancreatic combined. The sad fact is that despite being the #1 cancer killer, lung cancer receives a small fraction of the research funding of breast cancer alone. With Rob’s death, I pledged to do whatever I could to help others afflicted with this disease, specifically focusing on life-saving research.

Now that the Three Bridge Fiasco is behind us, get the rest of your crew together for a fun day on the bay and a great party afterwards at CYC. We’re looking forward to strong participation from the Moores!

Moores for Moore – you can count on some great trophies and fun prizes.

Registration and SIs are online at race.cyc.org/mw
See http://BayAreaRacingFederation.org for more regatta details.

Thanks!
Leslie
